Christmas 2022: Where to watch ELF in cinemas in London

December - it's the most wondELFul time of the year.

There will be several screenings of Elf in cinemas in London and it's pretty likely that more will be announced between the publication of this post and the start of the Elf season. Hooray!

This article, from Art of the Title, about the creation of the film and its opening sequences is amazing.

Buddy the Elf - the original costume, now on display.

The article above about the costume also drew my attention to the making of Elf.

Where you can watch the film Elf in London in 2021

It's almost but not quite Christmas and thoughts turn to seeing festive favourite Elf in the cinema (it's not on UK terrestrial TV this Christmas). Every year, from about October, I start to collect together all the London cinema listings I can find and the 2021 Elf db (spreadsheet) is here, or you can view it in its embedded forms below.

This list is as accurate as I can make it but there will always be smaller events that are advertised locally that I may not hear about. Grateful for any tip-offs :)

There's a special edition of John Debney's score on CD and this article, from Art of the Title, about the creation of the film and its opening sequences is amazing.

Saturday screenings are in bold. Any errors or omissions? Please let @JoBrodie know, thanks! Also if you're just interested in the current week's and the following week (when the Elf season starts!) look at LondonNet's listings for Elf.

Note that some of these screenings are events and so time may be event starting time rather than screening time, check a venue's homepage if in doubt.

Some of the information below has come from Park Circus, the company which licenses the film to venues wanting to screen it. As such they know where it will be shown but the cinemas themselves might not yet be publicising the event so there may be gaps.

2. Sources for listings
I've been collecting the published screenings of Elf in London for a few years so I now have a collection of venues that have previously screened the film so for those ones I do an occasional trawl through their sites to see if anything has been added. Park Circus own the rights so know who's screening it and have published some of them. Eventbrite and Design My Night sell tickets for lots of pop-up places so worth checking for things Elf-related. Twitter searches, Google. No potential candy cane left unchomped :)

Christmas 2018: How to watch #Elf in London this December

Elf (2003), best Christmas film ever. Rarely seen on regular UK terrestrial television now, due to Sky buying the rights to it in 2013 and now even Sky have lost permission from the studio to screen it as of 2017 (links to The Sun newspaper). Fortunately it is in plentiful supply in cinemas throughout the UK and there are many screenings in London over the Christmas 2018 season.

Christmas 2017: How to watch #Elf in London this December

Welcome to the annually updated 'Where to watch Elf in London' - 2017 edition.

Elf (2003), best Christmas film ever. Rarely seen on regular UK terrestrial television now, due to Sky buying the rights to it (or at least that's what I heard). Fortunately it is in plentiful supply in cinemas and there are many screenings in London over the next few weeks.

Film listing first, then organisations and venues list.

Saturday screenings are in bold. Any errors or omissions? Please let @JoBrodie know, thanks!

Also if you're just interested in this week and next week look at LondonNet's listings for Elf.

DECEMBER 2017

The Berkeley is screening Elf (or Miracle on 34th Street) every night during December 2017 at 5.15pm and / or 7.30pm. The first guest, or member of the public, to book a time slot for a particular day gets to pick which movie, so it is not straightforward to add this to the listings. Many of the screenings are already booked too but more information here. It's £70 adults, £50 child.
